Premier Rachel Notley and Minister of Culture and Tourism Ricardo Miranda welcomed athletes, coaches and support staff in the legislature to celebrate their
accomplishments at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The government also unveiled a display case in the legislature rotunda with Olympic and Paralympic mementos from Games past and present.

As part of the celebrations, 12 provincial facilities, including eight provincial historic sites and museums, will be offering free admission and

Alberta’s reputation as a world-class tourist destination continues to grow, with a significant surge in overseas visitors and local spending in 2014.
Almost 900,000 overseas visitors travelled to Alberta in 2014, up 17 per cent from the year before, according to new Statistics Canada figures.
These overseas visitors spent more than $1 billion in the province, an increase of 22 per cent over 2013.In addition, visits from the United States
increased to more than 770,000 travellers in 2014, and these visitors spent more than $730 million, 12 per cent more than in 2013.
