The Provincial Archives of Alberta have a vested interest in the promotion and preservation of records held both within the Archives and in the hands of private members of the community who seek to preserve their own family history and records. Anyone interested in the history of Alberta or their own family can access the services of the Archives.

Repair and Archival Preservation Assistance and Consultation
The Archives offers fee for service technical assistance and consultation with experts in the fields of archival preservation, conversion and repair. This includes services such as:
- Photograph restoration and repair
- Document repair
- Archive-standard preservation assistance
- Video and audio conversion
The Archives provides members of the general public access to Archive-quality supplies and storage items for personal use through our Archives Store and Client Services. The Archives store also sells copies and reproductions of some Archive holdings, including the availability of prints of most of our photographic holdings. Items available in the Archives Store include:
- Acid-free boxes and storage
- Archive quality photo pages and sleeves
- Print and negative envelopes
- Non-destructive tapes and adhesives
- Museum standard protective frames
