2017 Spring Training and Showcase

Hosted by Alberta Culture and Tourism, the 2017 Spring Training and Showcase will take place May 9-10, 2017 at the Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre.

This exciting annual event is catered to staff that come in direct contact with visitors in their Visitor Information Centres (VICs). This is also a great opportunity for tourism operators to apply as exhibitors to showcase their attraction, event, destination, or experience, as well as establish relationships with others in the tourism industry.

What is Spring Training & Showcase?

A two-day training event that offers the tools and resources to provide a high level of service to the travelling public. VIC staff will be trained on visitor engagement techniques, customer service, trip planning tools, Alberta product knowledge, and more! Training is catered to staff who directly engage with visitors in their centres and communities, including accredited and non-accredited community, regional, and provincial VICs.

This year’s theme, “Engaging Visitors, Building Communities,” highlights the importance of staff becoming local experts to effectively inform visitors and encourage them to do more and stay longer, thereby growing tourism in their region. Delegates will leave equipped with the knowledge and tools to connect visitors to Alberta experiences by providing trustworthy, accessible, and personalized trip planning advice and information.
